More Than a Ranch. A Place to Rebuild.
Stable Steps Ranch is taking shape in Loxley, Alabama, on 20 acres of land donated by the Waters family. What began as a dream of creating a recovery home is becoming a vision for a working horse ranch where men can rebuild their lives, discover purpose, and take their next steps forward.
20 Acres. One Extraordinary Vision
To create a supportive recovery residence where men who have completed substance-use treatment can rebuild their lives through stable housing, meaningful work, equine experiences, and personal wellness.
Our Vision
A community where men in recovery have the opportunity to rediscover their purpose, develop independence, and build a foundation for a brighter future.

Rooted in Family
Twenty acres of the Waters family's farmland in Loxley, Alabama, have been dedicated to creating a place where men in recovery can find hope and a new beginning.

Inspired by a Dream
Inspired by Jace's vision of a recovery home and the healing connection between horses and people, Stable Steps Ranch is bringing a family's dream closer to reality.

Looking Toward the Future
A working horse ranch, recovery residence, career training, and community connection—all designed to help men rebuild their lives with purpose.

The Story Behind The Land
From Our Family Farm to Their Future
Julie and Jim Waters raised their family on the land they farmed for years. Inspired by their son Jace's dream of a recovery home and a visit to Kentucky's working horse ranches, they dedicated 20 acres of their farmland to creating Stable Steps Ranch.
A family's love. A son's legacy. A future of hope.
